Sree Bhagawathy temple located at Chettikulungara is around 1200 years old, and is dedicated to goddess Bhadrakali. Legend says that this temple was established by Lord Parashurama along with four other temples. There are many other shrines in the temple and a small patch of trees housing shrines of serpent gods. Apart from regular special Poojas, major event at the temple is Kumbha Bharani festival celebrated with pomp and fervor during the month of March. The processions during this festival are really worth watching which are accompanied with many cultural performances.
